About Yoruba Accents: Yoruba is a tonal language. Every syllable falls into one of three tones depending on how you pronounce it. 'Do ( \ )', 'Re (no mark, it's left blank)', and 'Mi (/)'. 'Do' represents the low tone. 'Re' the mid tone and 'Mi' the high tone. And here is the somewhat tricky part, you learn the correct pronunciations by practice, there is really no hard and fast rule.
